The ability to download movies on Netflix has been around for several years now actually. Have you ever wanted to watch your favorite Netflix movies when you’re, say, waiting in line somewhere, on a long road trip or flight, or something? And maybe you’re worried about your cellular data or you know you’re going to be offline for some reason so you’d prefer to just have movies on hand? Well, great news! It can be helpful to download movies and series legally on your laptop and watch them on the move.
You can do this by navigating to the show or movie you would like to delete in My Downloads, clicking the checkmark icon and clicking “Delete Download.” Since no one has an infinite amount of storage, at some point you need to delete some of your downloaded content.
For series you have to select the season first for offline watching.Īfter the download has finished, you have to click the menu icon and navigate to “My Downloads.” There you can simply click the play button on the image of a movie or TV show to watch. However, an easier option is to click the menu icon on the top-left corner of the app and navigate to “Available for download.” Select the movie or show you would like to watch offline and search for the download icon (as seen in the image below). If you have the time, you can search for the show or movie you would like to download, and if it has the little download icon (it can be seen below), you can download and watch it offline. Note: despite the fact that Netflix enables much of its content to be watched offline, not all shows and movies can be downloaded. On the next screen, you have to choose the user account you would like to use for Netflix, taking you to the home page section of your account where you can start downloading movies and/or TV shows!
To do this, you have to navigate to the Windows Store – the easiest way to get there is to type “Windows Store” into the search field at the bottom left corner of your screen, search for Netflix and install the app.Īfter you have finished downloading the app, you need to click “Sign in” where you can type in your credentials connected to the streaming service. You have to download the Netflix app from the Windows Store first. Important Note: offline watching is not working from your browser. Recently the company also added Windows devices to the list, therefore enabling offline watching on your computer or laptop. At the end of last year, Netflix introduced a new feature allowing users to download movies and TV shows to their phones and tablets.
